The power of prayer

Isn't the power of prayer amazing? Just recently my sister in law Missy went to her 20 week ultrasound to find that her baby had a cyst in his sinus. This cyst is a sign of a disorder called Trysome 18. This is very serious and if your baby has it they will probably live only a few hours after birth. Needless to say that after the ultrasound she was really scared as were the rest of us. But since that time numerous of prayers have been offered in her behalf and yesterday we had a family fast. Last night my father in law Larry gave her a blessing, and in the blessing he said that the baby would be born well and whole. Now some people might say that it is silly to believe in such things, but I will never deny the power that prayer and fasting can have in any situation. This does not mean it will always turn out how you want, but, it will be God's will and how much more comforting is that to have that knowledge. I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of times that prayer has helped me in my own life and I am grateful that we have a line of communication with our Heavenly Father. It is true that prayer coupled with faith can lead to miracles.
